As with conspiracy theorists and climate change deniers just follow the money . Stop calling it climate change and call it by its real name climate crisis . Those in power who deny it and vote against improving a healthier greener planet are a clear and present danger to the people they pretend to represent .
Yes I wonder if the MAGA Senator Steve Scalise from Metairie/New Orleans Louisiana voted against fema funding? We lost our house in Louisiana from flooding from Katrina. He is as bad as they come

I get it. After years of watching these hurricanes get bigger, and seeing the tremendous damage and loss of life they cause, his tears are likely a trauma response.
That, and he has deep compassion for the people of the Yucatán, who are hardly even part of the story being told in the US.
I hope they can get off the coast and find safety.
I hope this poor man gets some sleep soon, and thinks about retirement. Not because he’s bad at his job! Because he’s a human being who’s maybe seen too much of this and needs a rest.

The World 🌎 needs to hold the Fossil Fuel industries Accountable for all the Devastating effects of the Global Warming Disaster's. They've known for decades what they were doing to our Planet,Yet, they've constantly poured Millions of dollars into the Climate Denial propaganda loudspeakers. Thoughts and prayers do little for the Dead. These Republicans who voted to Cut Spending for FEMA and other agencies, need to be Rejected from their seats and Voted out of office. Fossil fuel industry has made ridiculous high profit for years now, more so recently than any other time. This wealth is concentrated among few. They need to stop funding Congress and the supreme court and start helping with saving lives and rebuilding. You can bet none of those mega rich oil pigs are not anywhere near the hurricane

The list of Republicans who voted against FEMA funding is saddening, because several of them live in the states that are most vulnerable to hurricanes.
I’ve started a list of the most appropriate names for upcoming hurricanes, which also indicate the causes.

This list can be supplemented with the names of every single member of the House who voted against funding adequate aid to FEMA or who support Project 2025. It’s a very long list, but we’ll need all of those names.

I think he did a great job warning people to protect themselves. His tears drove home the urgency and severity of the situation like no words could have.
Every time authorities tell people to evacuate, you have dumbasses give interviews, saying they'll ride out the storm instead.
Maybe thanks to this meteorologist they won't be that dumb this time.
Do you really think a talking head showing no emotion will help? I can tell you no, a weatherman with an authentic reaction to a CAT 5 is what people need. In fact I’m looking for real people with real feelings to give the news every where every day. Truthfully.

My original comment is based on my kids getting hysterical and having nightmares when a similar event occurred on tv, even ťhough it didn't directly affect us. I've been thru 2 bad hurricanes and had 2 tornadoes hit 2 different
houses of mine. I needed to be calmed down and think fast when I got the warnings, not listen to somebody wail. Just saying....
That sounds like you have shirked your responsibility by allowing your children to see the disasters on tv rather than explain what’s happening yourself. I know disasters, I also know if you want to see your children live in a better world ten go after the republicans that refuse to fund FEMA. Go after MAGA Mike who won’t call the house back into session to vote to give more funds to the states. Go after the republicans that call the climate crisis a hoax, don’t shoot the messenger.
