I’m all into Kamala Harris, too, but I’m VERY cautious because MAGAS are crazy and dangerous, and heart breaks suck and this year is particularly important! Love her VP! I’m a Midwestern girl!

Excellent piece this evening, Oliver, and I can't tell you how many times I've Yelled for the Corporate Media to "Do your Job" and report the Facts and the Truth to the American people!? This is why we've come to rely upon journalist like you, and All of the progressive journalist who bring us the Information we need, to make intelligent decisions about our politics, and the direction we want our country to go. I hate criticizing the news media, because the first thing fascists do is undermine public trust in the press. German Hitler called the press "fake news" (Lügenpresse) long before Orange Hitler did it.
We need journalists that tell us the truth, because it's their job to guard our democracy. That's why newspapers have names like The Guardian and The Sentinel. Their names literally refer to their duty to warn and protect us from fascist liars who want to destroy our democracy.
And now that we are actually faced with this scenario, most of them are failing us by acting like Trump is just a silly old coot and not the greatest threat America has faced in history, according to Dick Cheney and many other people who know a thing or two about national security.
I guess it's gonna be up to us little guys to do the job the media conglomerates won't do.😉
Criticize all you want, constructive criticisms should be welcomed. Our corporate press is not doing us any favors by giving Donny Orange a free make over at our expense. I appreciate your efforts.

I was blaming our government for letting news sources flood us with disinformation, thinking that they might offer a heads up on the possible harm. I guess that job is and has been our journalists. NPR has been America's objective news source, more than any other, but they have a small voice comparatively speaking. But there needs to be an authoritive position on the matter, based on truth. It's not something the people need to figure out for themselves so they can have their own "truth".
But isn’t that the point though? Truth as a concept has become completely mutated over the last century, and at light speed in the USA.
From a naive outsider to your country, the iconic “Truth, Justice and the American Way” comes across as one of the ultimate crocks of bs that morphed from an ideal within a radio series about a fictional character, through to an unrealistic representation of the USA’s ideal.
Most major countries should take a leaf out of Finland’s books and instil the skills to question and self research “truth” throughout each child’s year of education.

I'm an Independent trying to focus on the positive, because I believe we will have peace in a just future. But for now, a psychiatrist is warning that we are in a national emergency that has evolved, and some of the statements that are going out on the media are so bizarre, false and wide-spread, some from manipulating players in other countries, and some resonate with Hitler's build up to the Holocaust. It is our human family's integrity that is at risk.
If some believe that a candidate is sent from God let them consider the teachings of the Messengers of God and the prophets, who try to raise our ethical understanding and behavior, and whose essential teachings are love. I feel for those who believe a candidate was sent from God, for their hope and loyalty, yet please, my message to you if you are thinking Bible prophecy in Amos or another book refers to one of our candidates, please, look with your own eyes and heart, look at their message and behavior to discern the truth, listen to the psalms of David. Is a leader leading you to the peace of laying down in green pastures, to the tranquility of still waters, to goodness and mercy? May America be a leader for peace in this world.
These fundamental truths are here for those who want to know. In the UK however we are facing a more subtle challenge from our supposed current party, our equivalent to your democrats. After an horrendous period of almost 15 years under a conservative admin, we elected a Labour government assuming they would rebalance the inequalities the previous government had created. However the promises made to get elected are now being broken, under the pretext of this administration’s dealing with the issues they inherited. A convenient excuse but totally disingenuous. It’s a classic case of “out of the frying pan and into the fire.” Further to your post, it does seem that the Russian misinformation campaign has been a resounding success in inciting division in society with race riots and general civil unrest.
